Researchers’ Night: A Night, 300 European Cities

For the first time for the Republic of Moldova, an exceptional event aimed at promoting science in society – “Researchers’ Night 2013” took place on September 27 in Chisinau. The event was organized under the aegis of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Center for International Projects and Logistics Agency “Age Quod Agis” with the extraordinary participation of research and higher education institutions.

The event was attended by several officials, including the Chairman of the Parliament Igor Corman. “Moldova has made ​​an important step towards integrating its scientific community in the EU. A modern and civilized country can not exist without science, research and innovation, and henceforth Chisinau also participates in building the scientific maps of the European Union”, said Igor Corman in the Researchers’ Night – event organized under his patronage.

In the event, the organizers have prepared an extensive program of activities to promote science and present the latest achievements in the field – exhibitions of scientific equipment, experiments and practical workshops, competitions. It was also inaugurated the underground “Chisinau – European City”.

State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI) participated in the organization of the event as a partner. In the event, AGEPI presented an informational stand dedicated to the national intellectual property system in the Republic of Moldova and offered to participants competent consultancy on how to protect intellectual property objects in the country and abroad. Also, by the AGEPI stand interested persons found relevant information on the conditions for participation in the International Specialized Exhibition “INFOINVENT-2013”, which will take place on 19-22 November at the IEC “Moldexpo”, where will be exhibited inventions, new products and technologies, plant varieties, industrial designs, crafts and handicrafts, developed in the last two years.

“Researchers’ Night” project is supported by European funds in the framework of the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Community for Research and Technological Development (FP7) and runs concomitantly in more than 300 European cities.
