The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) hosted on April 29, 2026, the 27th edition of the Annual Scientific-Practical Symposium “AGEPI Readings”, entitled “Intellectual Property - The Engine of Performance and Competitiveness”. The event is part of the series of manifestations dedicated to World Intellectual Property Day - April 26, marked this year under the slogan “IP and Sports: Set, Ready Innovate!”.
The symposium brought together intellectual property (IP) specialists from AGEPI, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Culture, the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, the Public Property Agency, as well as teachers, researchers, doctoral candidates and students of higher and specialized secondary education institutions, authorized attorneys and counselors in intellectual property, as well as representatives of the business environment.
This year’s edition featured 26 scientific papers, which addressed current topics in the field of intellectual property, including procedures for protection of IP objects, mechanisms for their exploitation, as well as the challenges in the enforcement of intellectual property rights. At the same time, in the context of this year’s theme of World Intellectual Property Day, the connections between intellectual property and the field of sports were also highlighted, with an emphasis on the role of innovations, trademarks and creations in the development and promotion of sports performance.
“AGEPI Readings” is a dedicated platform for dialogue and exchange of experience, intended for specialists, researchers, inventors, the academic environment and all actors involved in the field of protection, exploitation and enforcement of intellectual property rights. The aim of the event is to strengthen the level of awareness on the importance of intellectual property, to encourage applied research and to promote the dissemination of relevant scientific results for economic and social development.
Over time, the Symposium “AGEPI Readings” has established itself as an important landmark in promoting interdisciplinary dialogue and best practices in the field. The papers presented at the symposium are valorized by publication, at the request of the authors, in the Journal of Intellectual Property, Science and Education “Intellectus” [1] - a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific publication, accredited to category B for relevant scientific profiles. At the same time, the papers are also available, with the authors’ consent, on the AGEPI website, on the subpage dedicated to the symposium [2].
The event offered participants not only the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in the field, but also a favorable framework for strengthening cooperation relationships and exchanging ideas between representatives of the academic, institutional and business environments.
