On the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day 2025, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) invites young people from around the world to participate in the Music and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Video Competition. This competition will highlight the impact of intellectual property rights on innovation and creativity in the music industry, and is an opportunity to explore how IPR supports progress in this area.
This year’s competition theme, “Tuning in with the Music of Innovation and Creativity,” challenges participants to create a 60 to 90-second video that captures the connection between music, IP rights and innovation. The competition encourages young people to explore the impact of IPR on the creative process and show how they support creators and entrepreneurs in the music industry.
The winners will receive the following prizes:
Ø First Prize: Digital equipment to the maximum value of CHF 4,000
Ø Second Prize: Digital equipment to the maximum value of CHF 3,000
Ø Third Prize: Digital equipment to the maximum value of CHF 1,000
Ø The People’s Choice Prize: Digital equipment valued at up to CHF 1,500
Ø Top 20 entries: Training opportunities offered by the WIPO Academy.
The deadline for entries to the competition is 16 March 2025.
The results will be announced on the official competition page on 25 April 2025. Selected works will be promoted across the digital platforms of WIPO and other international organizations.
