Training Course in Intellectual Property for Judges and Prosecutors

During the period 12-16 June this year, the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), together with the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), organizes a training course in the field of intellectual property for judges and prosecutors trained in the continuous training process implemented by the NIJ.

The training course aims at enhancing the knowledge of the representatives of the Moldovan justice sector regarding the enforcement of intellectual property rights in the context of examination of intellectual property disputes.

The lectures are delivered by AGEPI specialists. The course deals with national and international regulations in the field, the basic principles of intellectual property, its role and essence in the legal relations, the forms and limits of protection of intellectual property objects, the system of rights that it generates, as well as practical aspects on the settlement of disputes concerning intellectual property rights.

The training course is part of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the National Institute of Justice and the State Agency on Intellectual Property, signed in April 2013, which provides for the need to promote knowledge of the national system of protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights among employees in the justice sector of the Republic of Moldova. Thus, in the framework of the activities stipulated in the Memorandum of Cooperation, the two institutions organize annually training seminars for judges, prosecutors and mediators, including inviting experts and specialists from abroad.
