CREDIDAM Representatives, on a Working Visit to AGEPI


The Interim Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) Andrei Popa met, on October 31, with the Director General of the Romanian Center for Performers’ Rights Administration (CREDIDAM) Stefan Gheorghiu.

During the meeting were discussed topics related to the system of collective management of copyrights and related rights in both countries, the current situation on the implementation of legal provisions regarding the performers’ rights in our country, the provisions of the Directive 2014/26/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 February 2014 on collective management of copyright and related rights and multi-territorial licensing of rights in musical works for online use in the internal market, directly the results of its implementation in Romania, etc.

CREDIDAM representatives expressed their willingness to render assistance in establishing cooperation relations between AGEPI and the collective management organizations of the Republic of Moldova, with international experts in the field, access to international practices related to effective rights management and support in the negotiation of cooperation agreements between the collective management organizations of the Republic of Moldova and similar organizations of other states, for the mutual representation of performers’ rights.

Also, in order to strengthen a dialogue between the collective management organizations of both countries, the opportunity of jointly organizing and holding a conference in the field of collective management was discussed.
