The 10th edition of the Student Economic Contest “Student Today, Entrepreneur Tomorrow” took place on 26 April this year, within the premises of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (AESM). Traditionally organized by the Business and Business Administration Department, the contest offers students the opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial skills and competitive potential, teamwork capacity and creativity in a limited time.

The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated as a partner of the current edition of the contest.

The contest was attended by 19 teams, formed of 4 - 5 students. For one hour, participants developed business models that would improve people’s lives. Subsequently, the developed projects were presented to the jury. The teams whose business ideas were innovative, original and implementation-oriented and the presentations most convincing and interesting won. The winners received promotional materials from AGEPI, including a set of books in the economic field.

The Economic Contest “Student Today, Entrepreneur Tomorrow” is part of the program of events carried out by AGEPI on the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day, which is celebrated annually on 26 April.

Also on the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day, on 27 April, AGEPI participated in the Scientific Symposium of Young Researchers AESM-2017 (16th edition) section “Creativity, Innovation and Protection of Intellectual Property”, organized by AESM. AGEPI specialists spoke to participants about the importance of intellectual property and the role of innovation for a better life.

World Intellectual Property Day is marked since 2000, and April 26 is the day on which the Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) (1970) came into force.
