State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) invests in education, granting this year as well scholarships of merit to two students of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (AESM), Business and Business Administration Department, specialty “Management of Intellectual Property”.
The ceremony of granting the Scholarship of Merit took place on December 23 in the plenum of the AESM Senate. The event was attended by Octavian Apostol, Director General of AGEPI, members of the Senate, led by AESM Rector Grigore Belostecinic, First Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Ion Tighineanu, students and professors.
Octavian Apostol said that AGEPI decided to support two of the best students who have demonstrated knowledge and skills in the course of study, granting them the scholarship of merit in the amount of 1,000 lei per month, for 10 months, in the hope that it will be useful to them in further studies. AGEPI Scholarship of Merit is a platform to encourage able students with initiative and eager to prove themselves.
Thus, as a result of examination of the dossiers submitted for the contest, by joint decision of the AESM Senate and administration of the State Agency on Intellectual Property, AGEPI Scholarship of Merit, for the academic year 2016-2017, has been granted to students Maria Bors and Mariana Ganaciuc, study group MIP-141.
AGEPI Scholarship of Merit was established in 2010. Financial support for students from the Business and Business Administration Department, specialty Management of Intellectual Property, aims to help and stimulate the training of national staff in the field of intellectual property, which is one of the priority directions of the National IP Strategy until 2020.
Since the establishment till now, AGEPI Scholarship of Merit was granted to 9 students of AESM, future managers in intellectual property.
