Second-year students from the Fashion Design, Design and Printing Technologies and Textile Garment Technology and Design programs of the Technical University of Moldova (TUM) participated on 3 December 2024 in an information seminar held by the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI). The event was organized at the request of TUM and focused on the importance of intellectual property rights (IP).
Andrei Moisei, principal consultant in the Communication and Training Division of AGEPI, delivered a detailed presentation on the concept of intellectual property, explaining the main objects, such as copyright, patents, trademarks, and industrial designs. During the communication, he emphasized how the protection of these rights contributes to stimulating creativity, promoting innovation, and economic development. The presentation also included concrete examples of how young designers and entrepreneurs can valorize IP rights to protect their creations, build a brand identity and prevent copying or unauthorized use of their works.
The event is part of the series of cooperation actions between AGEPI and TUM, carried out under the Cooperation Agreement signed on March 17, 2009.
On the same day, the AGEPI representative also participated in the “Career Days” project, organized by the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (AESM) from 2 to 5 December 2024. The event, dedicated to 2nd, 3rd and 4th-year students of bachelor’s programs, is designed to support young people in finding an internship, an internship program or a job. During it, Andrei Moisei had a communication in the field of intellectual property, explaining to the participants how knowledge and use of IP can bring competitive advantages in developing a successful career.
AGEPI’s actions of 3 December highlight the institution’s commitment to promoting education and training young people in the field of intellectual property, thus strengthening the connection between academia and the professional world.
