The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated on March 14 in a workshop entitled: “Consumer Protection and Circular Economy” dedicated to World Consumer Rights Day.
The event is organized by the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (AESM) in cooperation with the Public Association of Legal Culture “Henri Capitant” Moldova, the European Institute for Initiatives, Reforms and Education.
The purpose of this event is to raise public awareness of the importance of knowing people’s rights as consumers, being also a good opportunity for mobilization to protect them.
Topics such as consumer rights in the circular economy; judicial practice at the level of the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Justice; judicial practice concerning the protection of consumers’ economic interests; the advantages of the circular economy and trade guarantees, etc, were discussed during the workshop.
Natalia Mogol, Deputy Director General of AGEPI, presented a communication in which she highlighted the importance of intellectual property in protecting consumer rights and in promoting innovation and the circular economy.
The event was not only a celebration of consumer rights, but also an opportunity to highlight the crucial role of a circular economy for a sustainable society. Through presentations, discussions and the exchange of ideas, participants explored responsible economic and legal practices, highlighting the need and advantages of a circular economy-oriented approach.
The event was an important step towards a more responsible economy, while underlining the strong commitment of participants and partners to promoting consumer rights and sustainable development.
