The report contains relevant information, including statistical and analytical data, on the processes of patenting and registration of intellectual property objects (IPOs), legislative developments, and also activities to promote intellectual property at national and international level.

Although the past year was strongly marked by the COVID-19 pandemic and AGEPI’s activity took place under specific conditions, determined by the negative impact of the epidemiological and economic crisis, we note with satisfaction that interest in intellectual property has maintained at a relatively high level.

The same trend is attested in the chapter Granted Protection, including Renewals, being registered an increase in the number of IPOs to which protection were granted or renewed, by 2.4% compared to the previous period.

Despite the restrictions of mobility and organization of events in person, AGEPI continued its activities of IP promotion and training, and also of strengthening international cooperation, which were mainly organized in the virtual environment.
