AESM Students on an Information Visit to AGEPI

The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) hosted on February 13, this year, an information visit for third-year students of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (AESM), who are studying in the discipline “Innovation Management”, the program “Marketing and Logistics”.

The visit aimed to familiarize young people with the national system of protection, enforcement and exploitation of intellectual property rights, as well as to highlight their strategic role in economic development and stimulation of innovation processes. The students had the opportunity to learn relevant information about the procedures for registering intellectual property objects, the importance of protecting trademarks, inventions, industrial designs, as well as about the risks associated with non-observance of copyright and related rights.

The participants were welcomed by Natalia Mogol, Deputy Director General of AGEPI, who emphasized the importance of strengthening the culture in the field of intellectual property among young specialists and reiterated the institution’s openness to cooperation with the academic environment.

Next, Andrei Moisei, principal consultant in the Communication and Training Section, delivered an interactive lesson entitled “Innovation and Intellectual Property”. The presentation highlighted the direct link between creativity, innovation and legal protection mechanisms, emphasizing the need for effective protection for the exploitation of intellectual activity results in the business environment.

The discussions were dynamic, with students asking questions and analyzing practical examples, which contributed to a better understanding of the applicability of the theoretical concepts studied during the course.

At the end of the visit, the participants expressed their appreciation for the information provided and for the opportunity to interact directly with specialists in the field, mentioning the practical usefulness of the knowledge acquired for their professional careers.

We recall that, in April 2011, AGEPI and AESM concluded a Cooperation Agreement that provides for the promotion of intellectual property by involving specialists in the field in the training and development process of teachers and students, thus contributing to the consolidation of the partnership between academia and public institutions.
