Training Course in Intellectual Property for Judicial Assistants and Court Clerks

10/03/2018

The Training Course “Protection of Intellectual Property in the Republic of Moldova. Practical Aspects” for judicial assistants and court clerks, trained in the continuous training process conducted by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), is held from 3 to 5 October 2018 at the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI).

The training course aims at enhancing the knowledge of representatives of the Moldovan justice sector on the enforcement of intellectual property rights in the context of examination of intellectual property-related disputes.

In the opening, AGEPI Deputy Director General Andrei Popa mentioned that training persons from the judiciary system in the field of intellectual property is extremely important for the proper examination of disputes related to this area.

The course deals with the national and international regulations in the field, the basic principles of intellectual property, its role and its essence in the legal relations, the forms and limits of the protection of intellectual property objects, the system of rights that it generates, as well as the practical aspects of dispute settlement concerning intellectual property rights.

This course is part of the list of joint activities planned by AGEPI and NIJ, based on the Memorandum of Cooperation signed on April 12, 2013, which requires the promotion of knowledge about the national system of protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights among employees in the justice sector of the Republic of Moldova. Thus, within the activities provided by the Memorandum of Cooperation, the two institutions organize annually training seminars in the field, including by inviting experts and specialists from abroad.
