Solemn meeting dedicated to the World Intellectual Property Day


On 24 April this year, starting at 14:00, within the premises of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) will be held the solemn meeting dedicated to the World Intellectual Property Day 2015 which is celebrated annually on 26 April by the member states of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

The event aims to pay tribute to the contribution of intellectual property on innovation and creativity, to create a better understanding of the role of intellectual property, and to demonstrate the modality by which intellectual property system promotes not only products and technological innovations that contribute to the modernization of all countries of the world, but also music, art and entertainment activities.

The theme proclaimed by WIPO for 2015 is “Get up, Stand up. For music!”

To the meeting were invited the representatives of central public authorities, members of the National Commission on Intellectual Property, representatives of institutions in the sphere of science and innovation and higher education, creative unions, composers, performers, inventors, patent attorneys, representatives of AGEPI.

The event program includes speeches of the guests of honor on the development of music industry in the Republic of Moldova, protection and enforcement of rights of authors, composers, performers, producers and other right holders in this field. Thus, in the solemn meeting have announced their presence Mr. Constantin Rusnac, composer, secretary general of the National Commission of RM for UNESCO; Mr. Iurie Badicu, producer, Akord Band, Mr. Igor Sirbu and Mr. Igor Stribitchi, performers.

Also, during the solemn meeting will be presented the distinctions obtained by inventors from the Republic of Moldova at the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva, which took place in the period 15-19 April this year, as well as will be designated the most active patent attorney of the year 2014.
